Dr. Alexandra Tarkowski holds a Bachelor degree in Health Sciences from McMaster University and is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, obtaining Cum Laude and Clinic Honours distinctions. She holds a certificate in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University, and is also a certified Active Release Techniques (ART©) provider for full body; Spine, Lower Limb, and Upper Limb modules.
Dr. Tarkowski has worked with General Mills Canada Corporation, Canada Post Corporation, JTI-MacDonald Corporation, The Globe and Mail and Centre for Health and Safety Innovation to assist them develop Corporate Wellness Programs and develop a healthy workplace culture. Dr Tarkowski has been an onsite provider of chiropractic care for Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) prevention programs, ergonomic assessments/health screening and lifestyle management lectures.
Dr. Tarkowski uses an integrated model of health and rehabilitation which focuses on incorporating the latest evidence based practices in manual medicine. This includes Active Release Techniques (ART©) in combination with rehabilitative exercises, medical acupuncture and patient education to get her patients as active, functional and pain free as soon as possible.
Dr. Tarkowski believes that a well-rounded approach including proper nutrition, exercise, stress management and education can help patients achieve an enhanced quality of life. Her diverse athletic, academic and personal background allows her to excel in managing occupational, athletic and other common musculoskeletal injuries
Dr. Emily Danson, B.Kin., D.C., Dip.Med.Ac., ARTTM
Dr. Emily Danson obtained her degree in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. Her long term involvement in sport and athletic training, together with her undergraduate degree sparked her interest in health, wellness, and injury prevention. Dr. Danson went on to complete her degree as a doctor of chiropractic medicine at The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She also holds a certificate in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University and is full body certified in Active Release Technique (ART).
Dr.Danson is an avid skier and runner. She has completed two Marathons, The Mississauga Marathon (2006) and The Toronto Marathon (2008). As such, she has a special interest in treating runners and endurance athletes. Dr. Danson’s approach to treatment focuses on the principle that optimal health and function is dependent on an integrated approach using a combination of manual medicine techniques such as, diversified chiropractic technique, medical acupuncture, ART, and rehabilitative exercises.
Dr. Danson excels in managing and preventing musculoskeletal injuries, over-use injuries, and occupational injuries. Her experience has included treating with Chiropractics without Borders in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Danson’s athletic background and education has given her the skills to help patients achieve goals for optimal health.
Bronwyn Hill, ND
Bronwyn Hill, ND, graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Arts & Science Degree majoring in Biology and Anthropology. Her curiosity for the relationship between culture, community and sustainable healthcare led her to Kenya, where she acted as the operational and medical coordinator for mobile health clinics. Motivated by the positive impact of integrative health care she witnessed in Canada and abroad, she carried on to pursue her naturopathic education, graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Bronwyn has a strong belief in the connection between body, mind, environment and lifestyle. As a Naturopathic Doctor, she uses a multi-dimensional approach to health & wellness; using practices rooted in traditional methods of healing and validated by modern science & research. She is trained as a primary health care provider in the areas of medical diagnosis, physical examination, nutritional & lifestyle counselling, acupuncture & chinese medicine, botanical medicine, and homeopathy. Bronwyn sees herself as a facilitator and an educator in the healing process, and works together with other health care providers to bring her patients to a new level of health. She has a special interest in family health care, women’s and children’s health, and pre-natal care and has had the opportunity to practice this as an intern on a specialized Pediatrics rotation at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic.
Bronwyn looks forward to treating a wide range of patients and health concerns, and is continually inspired to help others realize that a healthy and balanced life is always within reach!
